Italian Ancestors -- A FamilySearch Resource

FamilySearch has an entire section of its site dedicated to Italian genealogy and related sources:
Italian Ancestors

The home page is a lengthy scroll-down.  The first large section pertains to the indexing project for Italy's civil records.

But, keep scrolling down to see sections (each with its own set of links to more resources!) entitled:

  • Italian Populations in the World
  • Interesting Dates Influencing Italian Record Keeping
  • Famous Italians
  • Italian Research Help
  • Research Courses

For instance, Italian Research Help has eight links, one of which is
"Ask a question in the Italian research forum" and is pictured here.  After clicking there, you arrive at the Western Europe forum.  Searching that forum for any mention of the word "Italian" yields 126 threads!  They include such topics as Modena, translating baptisms, Padova, Rattazzi in Baveno, and census records in Campobasso.  There might be something there for you, but probably the best part is that you can start your own thread and ask a question about anything you like!

Welcome!

Welcome to the new website for Chapter #2 of POINT!  Our members are from the Greater Los Angeles / Orange County / San Bernardino area.  This blog is under construction this very day....!  Be sure to see the list of upcoming meetings at the link above.
